The stainless steel detent protractor was shipped reasonably quickly, packed well on thick masonite-type board. Installation was easy, though it would not slip in the same way the original aluminum part slipped out due to much greater rigidity, so further disassembly was required after removing the factory part. My part arrived w/o installation instructions, but I had no trouble with installation and reassembly.
The detent slots fit more tightly on the spring-loaded detent plunger, effectively eliminating free play before tightening to lock the saw down, effectively eliminating that issue. The saw returns to the set angle very reliably. I installed this on a brand new saw, so the old part was not worn. There is now less free play in this saw than in any miter saw I have tried. I'm very pleased.
Also, my saw from the factory came with the protractor adjusted all the way to the end of the screw slot's range of motion. It was adjusted close but not quite, without room to adjust that last fraction of a degree. The new part has a wider range of motion, achieving perfectly accurate angles with more range available, but not needed.
This is a good upgrade to a very nice saw.

The Stenetent detent plate for Makita LS 1019 is an excellent piece of kit. The CNC markings are precise and the detents are cut perfectly. No more slop! The only slight niggle I have is that the etchings aren’t blackened.
But this is easily taken care of with black paint. Thanks for continuing to make this great item!

Very nice upgrade over the OEM detent plate. Stout stainless steel and more accurate than the stock plate at all detents as well. It would be nice to have it pre-painted, but not a deal breaker whatsoever. I painted mine using 2 coats flat black and 2 coats dead flat clear coat to help with the glare. If you have either the 10" or 12" Makita saw then this is a must have replacement. Shipping, packaging and service were all excellent.

Excellent product received it quicker than expected. Only complaint is the etched markings on the plate are not colored. It would have been nice for it to have color.

The new detente plate corrected the problem. Now I can cut square on the mitre saw. The Other manufactures detente plate did not have the slots in the detente plate machined long enough for adjustment. The manufacturer needs to recheck their machining set up to correct this problem.

This replacement plate is perfect! The oem plate was garbage, it would lift in the 0 degree position by a 1/2 degree either way. Not to mention that aluminum was the worst choice for the original plate. The Packible scale is rigid and precise. I did paint mine black then sand the paint off the surface so I could better see the markings, it was hard to see when not painted.

It is a shame that Makita failed in regard to the detent plate. As a professional, the saw became unusable due to the inaccurate cuts. Makita has buried their heads in the sand and acts as if there is no issue. Thank you for making such a top quality replacement. I can now use my saw again. Excellant product!!

This item is a must if you have a failed indent plate on a Makita saw - which seems pretty inevitable when you look at the factory aluminum version the saw comes with.
The packaging gave me great confidence that the part did not come to any harm during shipping.
The locking pin fit is so snug at first I thought it was too tight! Instead it turns out to be PERFECTLY designed to fit.
Installation was a breeze on my LS1040 short of a seized bolt on my saw which was unfortunate - it would be have VERY easy otherwise.
With the saw tuned up, the indents are all accurately machined in the correct places and the precision of my work is back where it should be with a saw of this caliber.
